The vulnerable core in you is your greatest treasure. This is the place where your divine Heart beats and your soul whispers. We are afraid of our woundedness and the possibility that we could get hurt if we decided to open up again. Hardly anybody has gotten through his or her childhood and youth without shocks and scars. We have learned to numb and immobilize our finest membrane. And we cut ourselves off from the feeling of vulnerability and shelterlessness.
Yet the truth is that neither woundedness nor opening can threaten our real Self. What we really fear is the intensity that goes along with being deeply touched. Thus it takes courage and heroism to face this equally powerful and delicate core in us. To get to know it again. The deeper we can rest and abide there, mindful, loving, the more we can enjoy the pulse of Life within us, experience its beauty and flow, its wildness and unbound Joy. And it calls us to be its vessel, to express it in our being and our actions. And though it’s coming from a source which is far from personal, it will feel much more like “you” than anything else. Your longing for wholeness, expression and unfolding is God’s own calling which you can perceive in the most sensitive core of your Heart.
